When The Unexpected Happens
Hi again Reader,
On June 7th, my life took a completely unexpected turn.
While checking into a flight to visit my father, now in long-term care, my beau collapsed and ended up in hospital. A whirlwind of tests uncovered that he has Stage 4 rectal cancer.
Just. Like. That.
The well-versed caregiver in me, immediately reported for duty. But not before getting angry first. Maybe I'll share more about that another time.
Back in the trenches, within the first week, I called on an army of support, invited an onslaught of love and encouragement, requested meals and other helpful gifts, and for complementary treatments and bills, I set up a GoFundMe page, which quickly surpassed $10,000.
He started radiation last week while I left town for a two night girls' getaway to the Whistler spa. Selfish?
Join me for tomorrow's full moon 'Happy Hour' to unpack why leaving was the most generous thing I could have done to support him. (Monday, July 3rd at 11:11am PT/2:11pm ET)
If you've already purchased my ebook on self-care but haven't yet attended your free Happy Hour, then you can use the same link provided last month or sent via a Facebook event invitation.
If you don't yet have a copy, click here to purchase either the ebook or a Happy Hour 6-pack and then reply to this email for the Zoom link.
NOTE: the first minute will be dedicated to Jared as a silent prayer.
